This gorgeously opulent bookmark is a stunning reproduction of British bindery Sangorski & Sutcliffe's ca.1875 cover for a collection of poems by the celebrated 14th-century Persian poet Háfiz̤ of Shíráz.

The original bookbinding, a rare copy housed in The Huntington's library collection, is made of Moroccan red leather and embellished with opals, pearls, and gold leaf.
